The Scoop on the Americas Cup – What’s Happening #LiveinLuxurySF Blog
As a member of The San Francisco Luxury Marketing Council, I attended a presentation of “America’s Cup – Everything you need to know”, Hosted by Al Nucifora at The City Club at 155 Sansome tonite. Presenter, Napa Valley Vintners’ Association served an array of Napa Boutique Wines and and was introduced as the Official Wine of the America’s Cup. Napa wines will exclusively be served at the events. In Napa Valley, 95% of vineyards are family owned, 80% produce 10,000 cases and less. There are 45 acres of planted vineyards which is only 9% of the county. They will be partnering to offer promotion for visitors to visit Napa during their Bay Area holiday.
The America’s Cup is a series of regatta’s held in top venues around the world, sailing the AC45′s, the fastest catamarans with cutting edge wing sail technology.
The marketing message is that this event is “Innovative and Revolutionary”. They have 28 Broadcast Partners, have recieved 5.8 million UTube Views and expect 370K spectators to take in the World Series of Racing. www.uTube.com/AmericasCup

Hey Folks!
Gavin Newsom just Twittered me about the launch of the new Green Cities Website, which is a collaboration of 10 cities GREEN Goals, we can participate in helping our City “Go GREEN”, read about Best Practices and keep up with what’s happening. Very inpsirational. I’ll be sure to post some of their San Francisco initiatives and events here.

Great Local San Francisco Real Estate Resource Website here
The Association’s web site for homeowners, www.sfbaywindow.com, contains more than 130 articles on subjects important to owners. From “Adding a Room” to “Zoning Districts,” it’s all there, making the site the most robust resource guide for San Francisco homeowners on the web.
Want to know more about sidewalk repair? What to do about barking dogs? Confused about who’s responsible for repairing the fence between your backyard and your neighbor’s? Aren’t sure if you need a permit to remodel your bathroom? The answers to all these questions and many more can be found on the Association’s very informative and unique site.
Topics are separated into three easy-to-navigate sub-headings: Your House, Your Neighborhood and Your City.
In addition, the site contains a fourth, separate category—Your Government—which provides descriptions of legislative proposals and ballot measures affecting the interests of property owners at the local, State and federal levels. Sometimes accompanying these descriptions are letters supporting or opposing legislative proposals (as the case might be) that site visitors can send to selected legislators, with their name attached to the letters with a single mouse click. To view the political content, however, the visitor must click on the separate Your Government link. The site was set up this way so that REALTORS® would not feel uncomfortable about referring their clients to the site because the “political point-of-view” expressed may be different than that of site visitors and client alienation would occur.
CRG San Francisco Coalition for Responsible Growth
This morning I met with two of the board Members, John Keogan, Chairman of the board of Directors and Luke O’Brien; of The San Francisco Coalition for Responsible Growth, an organization that interests me greatly. I saw their advertisment in the San Francisco Irish Herald Newspaper, became inspired, and gave them a ring and they set-up a meeting with me post haste!
I agree with the spirit of their mission statement. This is about San Francisco planned growth having become a polarizing issue and the need for planned city development reflecting the needs of the people as needing bolstering and promotion. They represent the ideas of many of the working class pillars of the community who actually make development happen in real time. The sectors represented are architects, business owners, community stakeholders, labor, planners, property developers/owners, and real estate related professionals. It’s about time the common mans voice is heard in this town, in terms of making our actual City in San Francisco comfortable, well developed and reflective of all of its’ citizens. Let’s have real dialogue with the City offices and become re-involved with our towns workings, right now and in the future. Their website is: www.sfcrg.com I am becoming a member and I’ll attend their general meeting to see where I can best make myself useful! Keep checking in for updates about this grass roots organization to watch how they grow and how I grow with them.
